Bows And Bow Making

This group is a long time coming. I first began working on a design for a bow for fiddlers in the late 1980s when I was playing mostly bluegrass. I didn't start the Celtic or Klezmer music until 1995, so the bowing I mostly wanted the bow for was fast, light, lots of double stops, chording, chopping and other comping, playing at the tip. It had to have a high balance point, a slightly heavier tip and feel like a pen between my fingers.

The purpose of this group is to talk about bows, bowing, and bow making.

I am always working on new bow designs. I just finished my 2nd carbon fiber bow for fiddlers and violinists. Now I am interested in hearing from you!
