Just wanted to add to the list of recording resources - a friend of mine told me about The Library Congress site of the Henry Reed collection - nice selection of him playing some old time tunes as well as transcriptions and recordings of him talking about the tunes.

Good deal, Wes! Bruce & Mike are a couple of my favorite fiddlers. I took a class at Swannanoa from Mike in about 2001.

Gee, I only went to Grass Valley, Swannanoa Old-Time week, and the very first Boonville Golden Old-Time campout. Well, maybe next year.

It has been a busy summer for me as well. I've participated in a fiddle contest every weekend this month with another this weekend and a couple more in Sept. Also did a few Civil War reenactments with my period band. The farthest I traveled (900 miles) was to the Minnesota State championships where I was most pleased to win the Senior division also took third place in the Ohio championship. It's been a great summer !

wow Marshall!!! You've been busy!!! I wish I could've gone to all those. I bet that was lots of fun. I finished up a CD I've been working on with my friend that plays clawhammer. Hey Old Time Music Fans: I just got back from the Johnson County Old Time Fiddlers Convention in Laurel Bloomery, TN, one of the oldest in the country. It's a nice small festival. Did lots of jamming, including about five hours or so playing in D.

Where have most of you all been going this summer? I've been to Fiddler's Grove, Mount Airy, Grayson County Fiddler's Convention (Elk Creek), Clifftop (Appalachian String Band Festival in Clifftop, WV), and Laurel Bloomery.

I love Old Time Thanks to my friend George Bachman..I also am a member of live365...A great place to hear really good fiddle music..
