Rob, it is not a 19th century fiddle. Since it has no lable, I'm not sure of the exact age, probably early 20th century factory fiddle. It was purchased,in very poor condition, for the purpose of practicing my luthier skills. Once I had it in playing condition, I desided to do the carvings and dedicate it for use at reenactments. I certainly would not do that to one of my 19th century fiddles.

Wow! I love that fiddle Tim!!! Is it authenic...meaning is it really from the Civil War era or is it a replica? Either way that is one of the coolest fiddles I have seen.
