Battle scarred and certainly containing much fiddle wisdom, thanks for sharing all of these awesome pictures.

Well as advertised it is a German circa 1870's. I thought it was a factory fiddle but recently found out that it is not. When I got it, it was set up as any modern fiddle, chin rest, Wittner tail piece with fine tuners and Helicore strings. You can hear what it sounded like on Lorena & Neil Gows lament (in my music). I wanted a fiddle that was fitting and correct for the living history events that I do so I decided to convert it to the gut string set up. You can hear it in that set up on Year of Jubilo & Old red River waltz. I have since added Perfection pegs to make it easier to keep in tune when at outdoor events. It is a fine old fiddle!

Tim, your fiddle looks like a real beauty. Lots of that unmistakable character that old instruments have. You may have told me about it before... but... AARP memory...lol... Tell me about it. Its got a very nice shape and just looks really neat.
