Hi Mary, I looked at two settings of the tune and both had a fast run of notes going up not down in the B section of the tune. One setting did indeed have it notated as a triplet for the quarter not along with it's 1/8 note. to make half a bar. The…

Hi Margaret, I guess we are all thinking the same thing, Be fore I read the other posts I was wondering if you were trying to do a bowed triplet as well as a run of notes. You can also play the d-c-B as a triplet in one bow and change direction for…

I think, (just off the top of my head), that any "changes" one encounters over the long term use of a Carbon Fiber bow are more likely to originate with the player and are far more noticeable and more apparent to the player and can be misinterpreted…

Monday will be my sister-in-law's birthday, and my presence has already been reserved! I'm still trying to arrange some things that aren't "under the thumb" of my dear wife and her family! Hope springs eternal! I'll make note of your phone.

Hi, Paul; thanks for the invitation! I'll have to get back to you about that when our plans are a little more finalized. I'm not sure about your Tuesday session; I know my in-laws are proposing a trip to the Jericho Folk Club for its session, open mic, and concert that evening. I'm sure there'll be opportunities, however, during which we can get together for a bit!

Hey, Paul! Love your rendition of "Coleraine's"; I tried to call up the Session Tunes to get sheet music, but the site was slow, so I elected to transcribe it myself from your video! I changed a bit of the bowing, but generally left it as you played it. Might post it on the Transcriptions Group later on today.

By the way, I'll be in B.C. September 12-22, visiting rellies in Horseshoe Bay, Surrey, and on the island in Victoria and Cowichan Bay. Any chance we might get together at a session or something? Anything good going on in Nanaimo at that time? The Horseshoe Bay ferry goes over to Nanaimo, I seem to recall.

Simply great, the 3 tracks you've just added here Paul, powerfully played and the band is well tuned in to each other! I really enjoyed listening to them, thank you :)

Paul,

I'm enjoying your tunes!

Yambu: Delicious, friendly, easy, inviting.

Morning Tea: I like the almost 'horn' sound from your violin mix there.

The Wind Blew High: Wow, high energy! Great synch between mando-fiddle!
Your band, (ensemble), is very well rehearsed, great musicians!

Fritz's frolic: HILARIOUS! As fun to listen to as it was to perform I bet.

The Leaves : Nice anachronism to begin, then a trip to an Italian coffee shop, and the piazza, nice melodies. Soft, retaining good energy. Playing a harmony and contrapuntal line along with you now, thanks for sharing. A little mayan mysticism in there too. I REALLY like this one. Impeccable intonation under the studio lights. Perfect ending.

Planxty : Reminds me of a girl I once knew ... she played harpsichord ... uhhh, save that one for later, :-) Again, a very nice recording and fine performing. Thanks for sharing the 'real' instrument with us, very nice tone, unpretentious and genuine.

Thanks! We're working on a new one, but everyone's other commitments means it takes a while...
